Rapids 14U Looking for Coaching Staff for 2009

The California Rapids 14A fastpitch softball team, whose roster consists of players from all over Sacramento, including several from Placer County, earned a bid to the 2007 Triple Crown World Series that was held in Park City, Utah from July 17th – July 21st. The California Rapids 14U enjoyed an incredibly successful 2007 season, Thanks to contributions from players, coaches, and families!

The 2008 Rapids will continue in the 14U age group, with most of our Rapids players representing their respective High School teams. High School season for softball will end in May as the California Rapids Summer season shall begin.

Reader Submissions Solicited

The California Rapids website gives players, family, and spectators a place to share news about current events in the league. Readers are invited to submit articles about league events or other factual stories related to girls softball. Submissions should be emailed to webmaster@californiarapids.com . Sacramento Softball Complex
April 7th and 8th 2007

In a rain shortened weekend the California Rapids again go undefeated and win the USSSA tournament at the Sacramento Softball Complex. The Rapids scored 23 and only gave up 2 runs. The Rapids that weekend also celebrated two birthdays, Tarryn Gordon (14) and Emily Snow (15).

This win qualified the Rapids 14s for the USSSA Nationals in Florida. Also in the USSSA Power rankings the California Rapids 14s are now ranked 9th in California.

Fresno Force Classic
April 28th and 29th 2007

The California Rapids 14s traveled to Fresno to play in the tough Fresno Force Classic where the best teams from Southern and Northern California come to sharpen their skills for the trip to the Nationals.
The Rapids played hard and although playing short-handed (Olivia Lucatuorto, ankle, and Jackie McCarty, heat stroke) managed to take 5th place overall out of 38 teams, losing their 3rd round match-up to last years National Champions, So Cal Fury (formerly Synergy 93/Shier) 1 to 0. The Rapids defense was incredible with timely hitting helping to drive them deep into the tournament
